Searching for the English Teachers

Dear Colleagues

Russian, not commercial organization “Pleiades” invites all the students of your university who desire to learn Russian language and literature to make their practicum in our center. Those of them, who have a certificate (TEFLA, TESOL) that gives them a right to teach their native language, can combine their practicum with teaching their native language to our Russian students. In this case, they will have a working visa, a right to teach and be paid, and a free staying in a family or in a private flat.
We are interested in finding native English teachers to replace our existing English language teacher here. We are preferably looking for a teacher with a TEFL qualification or teaching experience but will consider all applications. The length of the contract is open to discussion. We supply a fully paid flat with telephone and visa support. The salary is not particularly high but is enough to live reasonably comfortably on in Russia. It also depends on the number of groups and individual students taught by the teacher.
The students are all adults and teenagers and their levels range from Beginners to Advanced. We use the Oxford University Press “Headway” course and which can be supplemented by video and audio material. Any interested applicants can contact us at our e-mail address.

About our educational system

Our Teachers

All of our professors of Russian as a foreign language have the correspondent diplomas and certificates of Kuban State University, Kuban Medicine Academy and Kuban Agricultural University that let them teach and they also speak one or more foreign languages. Thanks to its south geographic position, Krasnodar has become the second (after Moscow with its University of «Friendship between people ») largest city in Russia where the foreign students from different countries do their studies, we have the students from African countries, from East Asia and Latin America and they all speak Spanish, French, English or their native language. Thanks to all these years, the kuban professors from these 3 universities enrich their experience in teaching russian to the foreign students. Our centre use succesefuly this experience.

Certificate

Our center is certified by the Ministry of Education under the number № 176602 till 2010 year, That gives us the right to teach Russian to the foreign public. At the end of the educational tour every student will have a certificate in russian and in his native language (on request).

Particular conditions

Students who wish to teach their native language (if they have some necessary Certificates) to our russian students will have the remissions for their stay and a part remission for the price of the education tour, due to the docent’s visa.

The programmes

We offer five different study programs:,

1. Spoken Russian – designed to overcome the fear of speaking. This course is created for those whose main aim is to improve their speaking skills and to be able to discuss and give their opinions on a variety of topics. During the course the student will learn a large number of spoken phrases useful for almost any situation.
Course length – 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 12 weeks
Number of hours – 3 lessons of hours per week
Cost for one week
The program has 3 levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced.

Number of hours – 5 lessons of 3 hours per week
Cost for one week

2. Business Russian – mastering specific business vocabulary using discussion, examples and role-play linked with business themes. This course will help you gain knowledge of negotiations and business correspondence, and discussions and presentations will help you to feel more comfortable in modern Russian business.
Course length – 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks or more.
Number of hours – 5 lessons of 3 hours per week
Cost for 2 weeks

3. Russian as a foreign language - individual lessons from 1 week to 4 weeks in length. The lesson plan will be drawn up by the teacher before the student arrives in Russia. It will be drawn up according to the student’s wishes and will take into account any previous experience and individual needs.
Cost for one individual lesson (45 minutes) - $ 20
Cost for one lesson in mini-group (45 minutes) - $ 10

4. Russian Language Summer School - from 20 May till 15 September Is designed for those wishing to begin their studies or to perfect their knowledge and at the same time to gain a mass of impressions through our rich cultural and sightseeing program.
Course length – from 1 to 6 weeks (student’s choice)
Number of hours – 5 lessons of 6 hours per week

5. Au-pair - 3 month, 6 month and 1 year programs. This program gives you the opportunity to see Russia “from the inside”, as your main duty will be the communication with a child (aged 5-12 years) in a Russian family. You will get to know a new culture, improve your knowledge of the Russian language through communication with your employer and family and also through a language course paid by your family. You will gain experience in looking after children and will receive 7000 roubles per month.

Summer School

from 20 May till 15 September,

The Summer School of Russian invites those who wish to begin their studies or to perfect their knowledge and at the same time to gain a mass of impressions through our rich cultural and sightseeing program.
Course length – from 1 to 6 weeks (student’s choice)
Number of hours in a group – 5 lessons of 6 hours per week
Number of individual hours – 5 lessons of 3 hours per week
The required age is from 16

All the excursion and cultural program can be completed or changed on request.
You will also have an extra charge for the student’s manual ($15)
